homas Marvel is a New England Yankee born and raised in Puerto Rico. Un buen gringo que habla un buen castellano. As a child actor he was introduced to theatrics and his father’s darkroom introduced him to the magic and power of imagery.
After studying theatre in Poland, he moved to Hollywood to learn about Film Making. He obviously gravitated toward lighting and after working his way up the ranks from electrician to gaffer to, naturally, Director of Photography.
Since then, he worked on big productions with worldwide reputation directors, actors or singers, as well as on small projects and short films, listening to his yearnings. « I shot in different part of the world, with different kind of team and universe (cinema, advertising, music..). Our ability to reinvent ourselves, to always look further, keeps on fascinating me. I feel this passion, this urge to find a new approach, the perfect image or the right moment with the people I work with. I'm really grateful for that! When the shooting ends, its the end of an adventure too with on top an awesome project that goes to the editing! »
Thomas brings this experience of artistry and craft to his work, he speaks a few languages, has a US and French Passport, and is always ready to hit the road.
